Manuel

Is the middle name of co-founder Jake Davis from Hebrew ( עִמָּנוּאֵל ‎) to Spain meaning "God with us." The English translation "by hand requiring skill." At The Farmers Market Global we have a strong admiration for innovation and progression while maintaining a reverence for the art of craftsmanship and the world view of wabi-sabi. As part of our installations, conceptual displays and product offerings we sometimes highlight techniques still created or discovered by hand. These exclusive specialty items represent the beauty in imperfection, impermanence, and incompleteness; not solely as an aesthetic but as a way to keep the tradition of many cultures. Whether it's chain stitch, needlepoint, sashiko or a handstyle; we love the unique decorative beauty that can derive from bold utility over time. As a result, these rare objects can be one of one items, by nature cannot be mass-produced and/or are part of our private collection. We will try to bring these tangible ideas to a larger audience through our collections when possible. Please inquire for private sales.

Nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect.
